Former central Ky. firefighters charged with arson

DANVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Four former firefighters from central Kentucky have been charged with arson after a series of fires at barns and abandoned buildings in the last two years.

The Advocate-Messenger reported that grand juries in Boyle and Marion counties handed up indictments related to 10 fires in the two counties during a period from May 2008 through June 2009.

In Boyle County, 19-year-old Stephen Orberson of Gravel Switch was charged with seven counts of arson, 24-year-old Robert Tate of Perryville with six counts, 22-year-old Melinda Orberson of Perryville with five counts and 21-year-old Frederick Tate of Harrodsburg with two counts.

Jail records for the four did not list attorneys. No initial court date was set.
