Associated Press - October 10, 2009 11:14 AM ET

LIBERTY, Ky. (AP) - The National Weather Service says a tornado touched down in Casey County with winds reaching 118 mph, though no serious injuries have been reported.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports the twister downed power lines and trees and severely damaged at least two mobile homes Friday afternoon in Casey County, southwest of Liberty.

Damage was also reported in Powell and Pulaski counties. Officials suspect tornadoes touched down there, though they must be confirmed by weather service investigators.

Barns, homes and power lines took most of the damage there.

Heavy rains were also reported in many places as a line of storms moved across the state Friday.
