INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Could there soon be a mad hatter in the Indiana governor's residence?
Gov. Mitch Daniels and Indiana first lady Cheri Daniels will dress up as characters from Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" this weekend for Halloween.
The specific costumes won't be revealed until Saturday, so it's unclear whether trick-or-treaters might see Alice, the Cheshire cat, the queen of hearts or other characters if they visit the governor's residence on Meridian Street on the north side of Indianapolis.
Seven staff members will join the Daniels in dressing up.
The couple will be handing out jump ropes and candy donated by five Indiana companies: Abbott's Candy Shop in Hagerstown, DeBrand Fine Chocolates in Fort Wayne, Mundt's Candies in Madison, Schimpff's Confectionery in Jeffersonville and Zachary Confections in Frankfort.
