A five-year-old girl with a rare medical condition is having a hard time getting to China for what her family calls a life-saving surgery.

Hailey Goranflo is now at a Vancouver B.C. hospital in intensive care.  She was supposed to go to China on Monday for stem cell implants.

Her family says it's the only treatment that can reverse effects of her Batten Disease. That causes her to suffer from seizures and loss of muscle control.

The family says the airline won't let Hailey board the plane, even though she has doctor approval to fly.

The community has already raised $80,000 for Hailey to get the surgery in China.
