Two men are arrested for trying to kidnap a Kentucky middle school girl so she could marry one of their sons. Police in North Dakota say Dragan Jovanovic and Elvis Tahirovic tried to pick up a 14-year-old girl from a Bowling Green middle school on Monday.
Police say the pair drove from Fargo to Bowling Green to get the girl, saying his son wanted to marry her.
Bowling Green Police spokesman Barry Pruitt says the girl had been communicating with Jovanovic's 14-year-old son for more than a year through an Internet social networking site.
Pruitt says that on Monday, the men tried to sign the girl out of Henry Moss Middle School, not knowing that she was not in school that day. School officials became suspicious and contacted the girl's parents and then police.
Pruitt says the girl had agreed to leave with the men but could not legally give her consent because of her age.
