Some call it the toughest two minutes in sports -- and the St. Matthews Fire Department has taken on the challenge.
Firefighters competed for the first time in August and qualified for the World Firefighter Combat Challenge in Las Vegas.
The competition involves five legs of a grueling obstacle course. The challenges simulate firefighting tasks. Each time they compete, they get closer to the one minute and eight second world record.
Their biggest challenge right now is finding an organization to back the team. The team is currently looking for sponsors to help fund their next competition. To learn how you can help, click here: www.stmatthewsfd.com/combat.html
